Dear Readers,

In a blink of eyes, we have reached the last quarter of this year. 2019 has been a wonderful adventure for JCI Curepipe.

One of the most overwhelming experience for this quarter is the 35th anniversary celebration of JCI Curepipe. This event was graced with the presence of past local presidents of JCI Curepipe. There is a saying which goes ‘family: like branches on a tree, we all grow in different directions yet our roots remain as one.’

This edition showcases the effort of members and aspiring members, no matter how little, is impacting the world positively. We embarked on various projects in different fields namely the Neighborhood Watch, collection of donation for Safe Haven Shelter, official launch of our Kids for Peace chapters and multi twinning project with JCE Saint Denis.

Do take a look at the aspiring members’ corner as we have some new blood in the team!

As our members won the debate and public speaking championship in the 2019 JCI Africa and the Middle East Conference, they are representing JCI Mauritius at the World Congress in Estonia. Hope they bring the trophy home!

As we will soon step in 2020, our members can reflect on how to create more positive change and leave the society better than we found it.  As John Maxwell once said: ‘Leadership is not about titles, positions or flowcharts. It is about one life influencing another.’

My sincere gratitude goes to Local President Karishma for her invaluable support, Local Secretary Kishan for his kind assistance and aspiring members Dean and Deevesh for their support and contribution.

Happy reading to all of you!
