Dear Readers,

10383_530992350415251_5980153984572611329_nI am very pleased to write a few words in a year where Junior Chamber International (JCI) Curepipe is rolling to Reach For The Stars. In general, Stars are the topic of countless poems and stories. But what I can derive, using the Stars as phenomenon implies that the JCI Curepipe Family is aiming high in terms of achievement and sustainability.

For this to be possible, we have to get out of our comfort zone and think about what type of organisation we want to have in the long run, what development opportunities we will provide, what type of mind-set and leaders we want to promote and what is the impact we will create in providing solutions to meet community needs.

In JCI, we lay strong emphasis on personal and skill development. Thus, we are committed to groom people through sharing of ideas, experiences, teamwork, liaising with partners and proximity with communities.  This allows individuals to become Young Active Citizens.

With the accomplishment of sustainable projects, people involved feel a sense of accomplishment which have been well earned through collective efforts and their contentment to create positive change are referred as Stars shining bright in the sky.

Moreover, as Stars are linked with stories, lets refer to what JCI Curepipe has achieved during the past years, where they shone bright on the National and International scenes with mesmerising projects, with great leaders, with unique recognitions…let’s share these wonderful moments with our new members, let’s make them dig deep and make them realise that they have the abilities to achieve not only to reach the moon but to Reach For The Stars….

Lets shoot for the Stars….make the World know about it

Let us be more ambitious….and shoot to the World That Peace Is Possible

“Every great dream begins with a dreamer. Always remember, you have within you the strength, the patience, and the passion to reach for the stars to change the world”.  Harriet Tubman

Yours in Active Citizenship
