We are already half-way through April. When I look back at the achievements of JCI Curepipe during the past three months, I could not feel more proud and grateful to be part of this wonderful family. 2016 is proving to be a year filled with challenges but also with opportunities.
JCI Curepipe has had a hectic but wonderful start of the year with the BelBin Team Development Training, Raise Hope Today CrowdFunding platform and the workshop on environmental issue at Lakaz Zen. On top of that, JCI Curepipe also took the challenge to organise the 2016 JCI Mauritius National Debate Championship and to coordinate the visit of JCI Vice President Kabo Garechaba to Mauritius. With the perseverance and hard work of all our members and the support of the National organisation and other local organisations, we were able to pull through all the hurdles.
2016 is a very special year for JCI as we commit ourselves to another 100 years of impact. The future of JCI lies in our hands. It is only through our commitment, dedication, and our ability to deliver results professionally that it is possible to bring JCI to the next level. We have to invest, collaborate, connect, motivate and impact towards a sustainable JCI which will not only be cherished by our generation but future generations as well.
Inline with its 2016 presidential theme “Reach For The Stars”, JCI Curepipe wants to provide a platform for its members to learn, grow, be better and in turn empower other youngsters. My message to all the new members and aspiring members will be to grab the opportunity as it presents itself. Even if you are unsure, say yes and learn how to do it after!
Before ending, I would like to thank my star team for their unflinching support since January. Special thanks to Editor in Chief Anishta Heeramun and her editorial team for the wonderful job done.
