Dear JCI Curepipe Members,
Greetings of your National President.
It is a honour for me to address you in your first newsletter of 2011.
The fuel of our organisation is our members. JCI Curepipe has started the year with a strong base by having the largest number of effective members. This is one of the positive aspects of a growing network.
During the visit of the Vice President Rania Haddad, the local board members and the local President had the opportunity to expose their plan of action for the year. I was pleasantly surprised by the diversity of projects in the areas of opportunities. This will only enhance your local organisation to do better.
JCI has got for mission to create positive change. And adding to this, we are to impact the society and communities through our actions. All of our members have to think, work and strategise as active citizens. We need to mark the difference by focusing on community based projects that are relevant to our society. And most important of all, is that by our actions we need to reflect the image of an organisation that grooms its members to become responsible leaders.
One of the targets set at national level is to encourage all local organisations to do at least one project as per the United Nations Millennium Development Goals. It is my wish to see JCI Curepipe running UNMDG projects as this will be an added contribution to the common goals set by various nations and will also help to reinforce our partnership with the United Nations.
I seize this opportunity to wish to the 2011 Local President Arvind as well as his board a fruitful year which will surely be conducive towards sharing and success.
Ryad Subratty
2011 National President
