“I swear that…“
Finally came the most awaited 7th August 2010. The day I declared true allegiance to the JCI family.
We four musketeers Hashama, Kevin, Zubin and myself gathered at the Four Points, Sheraton in Ebene city for our swearing-in ceremony.
Ready in our sarees and costumes we were most honoured to pronounce the oath of membership to JCI on the day of the TOYP 2010 event.
Flashback…
In April 2010, I decided to board the speed train of the JCI organization. Destination, set to our ultimate bright future full of promises and a strong will to impact the society.
My journey as an aspiring member in JCI lasted 4 inspiring months. Highly motivated and excited, I started my first project with the Stock Market and stock purchase, my role being the project secretary. I realized that in JCI, you can easily undertake a serious project with humour and good team spirit and achieve success.
I was not disappointed and indeed even more motivated.
Then followed yet another challenging project, the JCI Curepipe Health Campaign Day. How happy we were to see the children of SOS Village bubble with excitement and we were even more thrilled to have collected 58 pints of blood from generous donors for the Blood Caravan. The feeling of having done even a small contribution in our society brought me so much bliss that I said, ‘This is It’. I want to belong to JCI.
JCI Tam tam
BUT CHILL GUYS !!! That’s not all about JCI. We also had our catamaran tam-tam.
So much fun we had on that day that some of our fellow members even started speaking foreign languages. Our night cruise on 2 catamarans in the north sea of Mauritius was welcomed with a refreshing shower of rain. But come what may, ‘Lapli pa lapli’(rain or not), we Jaycees know how to make the most of what we have.
What more can I ask for?
Finally member of the Junior Chamber International.
Proudly parading with our JCI’s pins, it was now time for some photo shoots.
Of course, before any final end products, you require some makeovers and fine tuning.
Some people ‘ine mal rier’, some missing, some checking hair. Then suddenly, Our president, Prashant waving- “Stop! But where’s Lenita?”
No worries, here I come.
At last, the perfect photo. Say cheeeeezzzz…
