Our environment is facing a multitude of challenges today. From climate change to species extinction, our planet and its inhabitants are continually facing man-made threats that must be averted. As young active citizens, it is our duty to play our part to contribute towards a sustainable future.
As part of our mission to help achieve advancing UN MDG 7 to ensuring environmental sustainability JCI Curepipe launched in the context of the Earth Day on the 22nd of April and as part of our 30th anniversary initiatives its environment project “Together We ACT, Together We IMPACT”. The aim was to contribute our part in the preservation of our national heritage help in restoring the degraded areas by removing invasive plant species and planting new native trees.
The event was held on the 4th of May at Valley de Ferney and was focused on a programme on the preservation of our endemic flora and fauna. In addition to this we also planned a great team bonding moment with our friends present.
JCI Curepipe members, aspiring members, senators, family and friends of all local chapters and members of the national board collaborated and participated with us in this event in order to create a greater impact.

It was indeed a great day followed by great food at La Valley de Ferney. Truly saying nothing is more satisfying when you give back to Nature which has given us life.
